Matthew Marshall, FNP

Matthew was born in Southern Colorado and raised in a small farming community where he was taught the value of hard work and love of family and nature. Several moves in his childhood between Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah taught Matthew the value of flexibility and learning to meet new people quickly. At the age of 17, he and his mother moved to Hawaii where he wanted fo follow a dream of being an oceanographer. Unfortunately, he came to find out that he and sharks did not get along very well, so he abandoned the plan and continued his eduation at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. It was there that he met his wife. He then wanted to become a teacher and took classes to become and elementary school teacher. He served a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Montreal, Canada and Billings, Montana. After two years, he returned to home in Provo, Utah and commenced working while attending school to become a teacher. A job presented itself as a nurse's aide with a home care agency. From the first day, Matthew felt a type of fulfillment which he has never felt before. Serving others who were sick or afflicted and easing their pain and suffering was a new calling. He re-met his to-be wife and then started to pursue nursing as a profession. After becoming a nurse, a series of events took place where he knew that he needed to continue schooling. Four and a half years later he graduated as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He has been led throughout his life by his Heavenly Father and appreciates his guidance in preparing him for his vocation. He has been blessed with a loving wife, and five wonderful children. They really enjoy spending time outdoors and want to pursue having a small hobby farm. They home-school their children and enjoy having them in their home. His wife is a Registered Dietician, which makes it easy to eat well. He enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, golfing, gardening, and swimming. He is looking forward to stability and a place where his kids can grow up.
